Mr. Yadav Ghimirey has been looking after the small carnivores project in Makalu-Barun National Park. This project has been funded by CEPF grants in the eastern Himalayas and Panthera Corporation, USA. 3 camera traps have been also supported by idea wild, USA.

The duration of the project is December 2008-December 2009. The preliminary field visit and the first phase of camera trapping have been completed. This has resulted the first photo of an Asiatic golden cat in Nepal.
