On the occasion of “Nepal Owl Festival, 2014” to be celebrated on 7-9 March, 2014, Friends of Nature, Nepal (FON Nepal) calls for an owl conservation documentary/movie competition. Submitted documentary/movie should document not only the on-the-ground reality but also elevate the awareness level of relevant stakeholders. The selected documentary/movie will be presented in various conservation camps including the ‘Nepal Owl Festival 2014’ event.

Length: 3-5 minutes
Deadline: CD or pen drive should be mailed to Friends of Nature, PO Box 23491, Sundhara, Kathmandu, Nepal or provide an appropriate link (i.e. Dropbox) to firstname.lastname@example.org not later than 30 January, 2014 with your contact address (email and phone number).
Evaluation: The submitted documentary/movies will be evaluated by Mr. Manoj Pandit, a renowned Film Director of Nepal and Raju Acharya, Country Representative, World Owl Trust, UK.
Winner: Certificate and cash prize of NPR 15000
Runner: Certificate and cash prize of NPR 10000
Consolation: Certificate and cash prize of NPR 5000
Top three documentary/movies will be sent to USA where they will be broadcasted in the main event of “International Festival of Owl 2014”. They will also get a letter of appreciation from Houston Nature Center; A US based organization for owl conservation.
Criteria: All interested participants from Nepal and abroad can submit their documentary/movie, however contents and related information should be from Nepal only. Either English or Nepali language with complimentary subtitles are accepted for the evaluation.
